Lithuania’s industrial production growth among largest in EU in August
Industrial production dropped 7.3% year on year in August (July: -9.0% yoy). August’s softer drop was largely driven by a weaker contraction in manufacturing production. In contrast, mining and quarrying output weakened at a stronger pace.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rose 3.8% in August (July: -4.7% mom). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 19.1% in August, down from July’s minus 17.3%.
