Lithuania is ready to expand its goods and services exports to African countries, President Gitanas Nauseda says.

On Thursday, he attended the EU-AU summit where leaders discussed cooperation in the area of economy, sustainability and innovation, as well as financial access and economic integration issues.

According to the president, partners in Africa could also be interested in projects implemented in Lithuania, aimed at creating an environment for business and startups, attracting people to the technological sector, providing e-government services and ensuring sustainable growth.

Supporting free trade and measures to bolster the EU’s internal market as well as being interested in the expansion of economic cooperation, Lithuania stands ready to provide expert-level assistance to African countries in the areas of economic integration and the creation of a common market, Nauseda said.

Lithuania is also interested in the opening of new markets and is looking for ways to expand its exports to African countries, the president said.
