Moody’s improves, Standard & Poor’s affirms Lithuania’s rating
International rating agency Moody’s has improved Lithuania’s long-term credit rating to A2, from A3, with a stable outlook after six years, and Standard & Poor’s has affirmed the existing rating of A+, from A, with a stable outlook.
Lithuanian Finance Minister Gintare Skaiste says the decisions reflect confidence in the country’s new government, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
Another credit rating agency – S&P Global Ratings – earlier affirmed Lithuania’s long-term rating of A+, leaving a stable outlook.
Standard & Poor’s improved Lithuania’s rating from A to A+ a year ago.
In late November, DBRS Morningstar left Lithuania’s rating unchanged at A with a stable outlook.
Fitch Ratings’ long-term credit rating for Lithuania now stands at A with a stable outlook.
